A plaintful story from a sist'ring vale,
I know I've gone on about it a couple of times but Splatoon 2's Global Testfire is happening this weekend, in case you'd forgotten.

Of this false jewel, and his amorous spoil.

As soon as there were Lego-based video games we knew there had to be a Sim City-style city management game.

Yep, Lego Creator Islands is here at last for tablets.

It's a port of the browser game of the same name. You're even able to log in to your Lego ID account and transfer play between your PC and tablets.

The idea in Lego Creator Islands is simple: construct houses, vehicles, creatures, and whatever else you can on a series of islands.

Each time you build something new for the Minifigures, you earn more yellow bricks to unlock new Lego Creator models. Unlock the Power Digger and you can even make new building lots.

You're also able to unlock new islands to build upon. But you still need to keep an eye on the main island as, sometimes, it needs rearranging.

Lego Creator Islands is supposed to be for children aged 9 to 11, but I'm sure anyone can enjoy building with bricks for a while.

You can download the game for free on the App Store [download] and Google Play [download] right now. There are no IAPs or ads.

Well, well, lookie what we have here. Pixel Starships is now up on Kickstarter.

We had a quick look at this 8-bit starship management game a couple of weeks ago, remember? Oh how time flies.

And like time, hopefully you can keep a starship and its entire crew flying just as well. For, if you don't, well, you'll soon be punished.

Not just by some human-hating AI alien fleet either. Oh no. That would be a luxury. Your failings in Pixel Starships will be exploited by other online players too. Oh, the humiliation.

And what vast opportunities there are to fail, too. You have to build a custom starship (that's one), you have to command your crew (that's another), and you have to explore the universe for resources (that's a hat trick).

There's much more than that to the game as well. Or, at least, there will be once it's finished. Beside battling, there are diplomatic routes to take, trading to do, and research to conduct.

If you want a game that promises all of this then you might want to consider supporting Pixel Starships, I guess.

You can get a copy of the game, which is due to launch on iOS this December, for $6 during the Kickstarter. At higher price points there's beta access, in-game rewards, and character design opportunities.

Give the Kickstarter a once over and decide whether to break into your piggy bank or not. Either way, we hope to see the game live up to those promises later this year.
Anne and Gilbert spent many an autumn evening at the lighthouse. It was always a cheery place. Even when the east wind sang in minor and the sea was dead and gray, hints of sunshine seemed to be lurking all about it. Perhaps this was because the First Mate always paraded it in panoply of gold. He was so large and effulgent that one hardly missed the sun, and his resounding purrs formed a pleasant accompaniment to the laughter and conversation which went on around Captain Jim's fireplace. Captain Jim and Gilbert had many long discussions and high converse on matters beyond the ken of cat or king.

What do you get when you combine a zombie shooter with base building?

No, I mean apart from two of the most overdone aspects of mobile gaming becoming one.

Sigh. I'll tell you, shall I? It's a game called Dead Union.

Developer NetDragon announced that it would be soft-launched for Australia on Android tomorrow. The final version will also be heading to iOS.

You should know what the drill is with this type of game. It's a first-person shooter set during the post-apocalypse. Stop me when this becomes familiar.

There's a wide variety of zombies, mutants, and beasts to shoot down. And 29 different weapons to do that with too.

To access them all you'll need to win items and money. This also goes towards upgrading your favourite ones. Done this before?
Sometimes her levelled eyes their carriage ride,

Motorsport Manager lovers rejoice because MMM3 is on its way. While we're not sure of the date outside of 'summer 2018', we're sure it'll be a blast to play.

Motorsport Manager is a racing strategy game where you'll build your team from scratch and decide how their careers will flourish (or fail). You'll get a say in pretty much everything they do, so prepare to grow your fledgling drivers and make the best decisions possible. Or don't - it's your rodeo.

Both Motorsport Manager and Motorsport Manager 2 earned Gold Awards in their reviews, the most recent of which we said it's "--a highly polished, incredibly engaging simulation. But it's not too daunting if you're new to the genre. There are things to tweak and think about, but there's never too much information that you feel squashed under it."

This latest in the series has a few new tricks up its sleeve as it brings six new championships in GT and Endurance races, a new setting in Monaco with a new art style, a host of new features (including Supplier Network, Invitational Races, and Mechanics), and more.

The game'll also be introducing augmented reality with its new Camera mode. Here you can pick your own perspective on the race, so find which angle's your favourite. It's a whole new level of interaction.

Gemini follows two stars on a vibrant narrative-driven journey, and it's currently discounted to 2.99p / 2.99c on the App Store.

Controlling a larger and smaller star simultaneously, you must use them in sync to traverse abstract environments, twirling together in a flowing aerial dance. Exploring these spaces reveal a dreamlike tale, one that you can enjoy with a friend in co-op after completing the solo campaign.Gemini: A Journey of Two Stars is available on iPad and iPhone.
